When I found out I was pregnant with the twins I decided to take a career break from my management position and become a SAHM. At the start, this did take some getting used to as I have always worked. 3 years in I had a light bulb moment one night and decided to start blogging. When this post goes live I will be reaching my 1st year blog anniversary. I had no idea that the idea I had one night in bed would turn into what it has today, but I’m very grateful. Blogging has opened so many doors for me but having dabbled slightly in sales marketing in the past I really wanted to get a sound knowledge of the industry to try and take my blog forward but also re-educate myself and hopefully open more doors in my future career path. Blogging is something that I can do from home around my children so I really wanted a course that allowed me the same flexibility. At the present time, I couldn’t dedicate set hours to attend college so home learning is a path that’s fantastic for people like me who are wanting to change careers or gain more experience in different fields. Today I’m going to talk about the online courses with NCC home learning and what path I have chosen to go down including my course and first impressions.
Online Courses with NCC Home Learning
NCC home learning has been active in the adult education sector for 20 years. Their aim is to allow us to study at a pace that we are comfortable with but also offering you guidance and assistance as you go. For someone like me who are returning to education after many years, this is fantastic as I know I have the tutors there to help if required. The website I have found was super easy to navigate around. You can select the path you want to follow i.e industry sector, career-related, interest courses and course type using the drop-down menu. This then gives you all the courses that are available related to what you want to study. The courses vary from low-level skill learning up to Diploma level which is what I’m doing. This allows a wider range of people to study and the courses are tailored to your educational need. Each course also varies in time, mine is 200 hours from start to finish but there are various shorted courses that you may find easier as a starting point.
I decided when searching the courses to do the Marketing Diploma. For me, this course offers the solid background that I need to move forward. When you sign up your given your own unique login. when entered it takes you straight through to your course content from start to finish. There is also a very helpful guide that you can read prior to starting to help you understand the course layout. Each course is broken down into smaller modules which for me is a great way to start learning again. I have 7 to complete before I take my final exam.
- Module 1 – Introduction to marketing
- Module 2 – The marketing mix
- Module 3 – Traditional marketing methods
- Module 4 – Digital marketing methods
- Module 5 – Getting started
- Module 6 – Progression
- Module 7 – Finish
- Module 8 – Marketing exam
I’m a week into my first module and Marketing Diploma and I must say I have found the learning aspect a lot easier than I had previously thought. The way the course is set out and the way its delivered means that for someone like me who hasn’t studied in many years it’s much easier to get to grasps with. There are also dedicated tutors to assist should you require any guidance at any time during your course. I’m really looking forward to reporting back when I have completed my Diploma.
Is this something any of you have ever thought of doing?
** I am doing this course alongside NCC. All thoughts as always are my own and I have to complete the course in its entirety like any regular student. Please see disclosure section for full information
