Send A Card To A Friend Day

Send A Card To A Friend Day

It doesn’t matter what background we have or where we are located one thing that will always happen as we grow is that we will meet people. Some of these will become good friends, others will remain acquaintances or just people we can pass ourselves with. It’s so funny when I look back at my childhood and the abundance of friends that I had. Everyone was classed as my best friend so as not to disappoint. I was very much the child who didn’t like to upset anybody. I wanted all to feel special. I am probably still like this to a degree. But my network and the close group is so much smaller than it was and the people I am close to now I would class as good friends. I love how I meet people even now and we can just connect. Form the best of friendships straight away ones that we know will last until we are old and grey 🙂 February 7th is Send A Card To A Friend Day. Why not let that special friend know that you care, you think about them and appreciate how much they are there for you. I have found some gorgeous cards, tokens of thanks and cuddle Itty Bittys (never too old for a cuddly toy eh) over on the Hallmark website. Can you remember your first real friend?

Send A Card To A Friend Day

I have some absolutely beautiful friends. Some that I have grown with from childhood. Others I have met in my adult years and then I have my amazing online friends 🙂 We don’t necessarily speak all the time but if we need each other we are at the end of the phone.

True friendship is when you walk into their house and your WiFi connects automatically.

Old Friends

I love how one of my friends Zoe has children the same age as mine. 2 of them are actually in the same secondary school class. They are growing up together like Zoe and I did. 2 of our smalls are also entering the primary school where we first met next year and I know they will connect as Zoe and I did 30 odd years ago.

Online Friends

Send A Card To A Friend Day

I have a lovely set of online friends that I met through Facebook groups. We have all known each other 4 years now. We met with our love of cloth nappies. These guys are all based in the UK. We chat lots, gift each other on birthdays and send cards at Christmas. If one is having a rough time we club together and send a gift ie chocolates, flowers or a card. I have even met a few of the girls in the UK when we have been over and 2 have come to stay with me here in Belfast. I love how just coming across girls can spark the best friendships. These girls have been with me through the good times and the bad and for me that just symbolises how wonderful they are as individuals.

Send A Card To A Friend Day

I am really blessed to have a really lovely circle of friends. What better way to celebrate our friendship than to send them a card from Hallmark on Send A Card To A Friend Day. Letting them know how much of a positive impact they have made in our lives 🙂 Its always so nice to celebrate and acknowledge the good things in life.

Ahh what lovely idea! I think friends are such an important thing to have and good friends especially are invaluable. I am very lucky to have some amazing friends around me.

That’s a nice initiative. Cards are really big in the UK and I never realised before. In France, people don’t really send each other cards and you don’t have much choice in shops for that reason. I like the idea very much!

YES!!! I love this idea, we have lost touch with writing and it would be nice to receive a handwritten card rather than just an email from time to time x

This is so strange I was just thinking about this the other day! I’m one of those people who writes thank you cards for any gift I receive from my friends, I think it’s just in my nature to want to show everyone how much I appreciate them, how much I love them and how happy I am that they are part of my life.

I love the idea of this especially a hand written one <3 Hopefully I'll find some time to do this and get them all posted so I can surprise some old friends and some new ones.

Also I adore the picture! Your hand writing looks so beautiful and I love that there are sweeties off to the side as well 😀

Such a lovely idea! I feel inspired to send a card to the friends that I just don’t see often enough. So much more personal than an email or message on Facebook!

I didn’t know there was a day called friends’ day what a lovely idea. I’ve made so many friends through blogging that have given me so much support and help over the years that it would be lovely to send them a card and say thank you.

A real card is so much nicer than an e-card I think – or even one of those preprinted ones. It looks like you’ve gone to a lot more trouble.

I love this idea, the only person who I still receive hand written letters from is my Nan and it’s so lovely to see it drop through the letterbox and sit and have a read of what she’s got to catch me up on. It’s so nice to get something handwritten instead of over the internet and you can keep it forever

This made me cry. I think because I now live 234 miles away from my friends, I miss them so much. I also feel like they aren’t as in touch anymore and I find it hard to call up and talk about my problems. I see them sometimes but I think this card sending is a beautiful idea x thank you for the inspiration x x

I’m such a rubbish friend – I didn’t know about send a card to a friend day! I would have loved to have sent one to each of my closest friends. Just to let them know how much I appreciate them. I’m sure they know that already, but still!

Love this post. There’s no better way to keep in touch with a friend through communication. Though we are in a social media circle, receiving or sending a card would be amazing. So touching.
