We have been buying eco friendly and organic clothing for the smalls for 6 years now. I bought my first item when Mason’s skin started to show irritation, from this we moved on to cloth nappies and slowly introduced more clothing pieces. If your an oldie but goldie here you will know that as a family we try and be as eco friendly as we can be as a whole including household cleaning items etc. I think as the years have passed there is much more awareness now. Which is a great thing. People are starting to take on board the issues that our planet is facing and there is much more positivity towards making smarter choices. Its not a hippie thing anymore its much more main stream which is fab. As I mentioned we do love eco friendly clothing so when I was sent a Muddy Puddles Eco Splash jacket for the boys to review I was delighted.
Muddy Puddles Eco Splash Review
Muddy puddles started its journey 20 years ago in Devon. Since then the brand has grown into a multi award winning company. With 1000s of deigns and customers over the years, muddy puddles are at the forefront of children’s waterproof clothing. The designs are child friendly and appealing and best of all they do what they say and product our littles ones whilst they explore the great outdoors.
There are four essential elements.
– exceptional technical performance: waterproof, durable, breathable – ready for any weather
– bright & bold unisex designs: to love and wear day in and day out
– built to last: to wear and wash and pass on
– accessible prices: because children are expensive
Muddy puddles are passionate about giving back to the community and charity work. You guys will know that I love brands that give something back. The company provides waterproofs to three city farms. Which means when children visit then can do so whilst staying warm and dry. They also support a charity called Urban wild places which encourages and strives to get inner city children outdoors.
We were sent the eco splash fleece lined jacket in navy red stripe. Its the perfect autumnal jacket for Lucas. He likes to be cosy without having his movements compromised with larger padding. The jacket is made from recycled water bottles and is fully waterproof and breathable. My boys love to run around so not getting too hot is perfect for us. It features waterproof zips and elasticated binding to the sleeve, hood and hem areas. The larger zip pull made it easier for Lucas to put on, he often struggles with smaller zips on jackets. The fleece lining is super soft and the perfect inner to an autumnal jacket. Its also the perfect cut design wise to add a wool or fleece jumper underneath. The jacket that we have comes in another very unisex colourway and there is also waterproof bottoms to match as well for those eager splashers out there. All in all we are very happy with the jacket. Its warm, waterproof and environmentally friendly. From a price stance its £45.00 and for an eco clothing item its very competitive.
