Baby Product List

Baby Product List

The whole idea of shopping for a little one that isn’t even born can be daunting for any mum. The market is flooded with so many items now in comparison to when I had my first nearly 18 years ago. So where do you start? What items do we really need? Today im going to share a Baby Product List. Some ideas for mums to be of what we have used with our 6.

Sleeping Items

We always started off with a side crib/Moses basket and then in a few months we moved to a cot. My babies have all preferred the closeness of being in a Moses basket or crib especially in the early days. Plus it was great having my newborn so close to my bed, meaning I could hold their hands and sooth them easily, especially in the first few weeks.

Blankets and GroBags

Whatever sleeping system you decide to use you will need blankets and in time a grobag if thats what you decide to use. We loved cellular blankets for the few few weeks, a fleece blanket when out and a grobag after a few months.

Muslins and Bibs

There are so many wonderful designs out there for keeping your little one clean. In the early days muslins are fantastic. They can be used for so much as well, plus are easily cleaned and dried.

Playmats and Activity Gyms

When I had Kane I dont think there where any of these softer ones. The twins who are 5 however loved being under theirs. They are great for tummy time as well an some even come with a pillow to allow your child to enjoy tummy time comfortably.

Changing Stations and Bags

Definately not something that you need but if you have space a changing station is a great idea especially for night chnages and dressing babies. You can of course just use a changing mat or of course nothing if your brave. We also used cloth nappies with the twins so we needed a large changing bag to carry everything around.

I hope new mums may find this helpful. If you already ahve children did you ave any must have items?

I had no idea what I needed before I had my son last year so this is a great list. Very helpful for any mums to be – or people buying gifts for new mums!

These are fabulous ideas for new parents to be, my favourite and most used one was the changing station and bags. They were a life saver.

This is a great idea for a new parent to be! I can imagine that it can be a little overwhelming listing everything to buy and a few items end up getting missed!

We didnt buy a thing until our babies were born (more out of not wanting to tempt fate than being disorganised!) but the first essential we bought was a bedside crib, I love the look of these!

I think these are definitely must have items for a newborn! I like the sound of a playgym and a changing station and of course a moses basket is great for a child’s early years!

The item that we used the mpst was a newborn to toddler rocker which we used for about 2 years. It was the only thing he would sleep in for the first few weeks other than in my arms x

Great post for new parents. I don’t have kids so don’t even have the first clue about what I’d need for a baby x

It is so easy to over-buy for a new baby as they don’t need much in all reality. Great tips

I completely agree with muslins – I don’t think you can have too many. I still have all of mine and my children are 1 and nearly 3, they are still so useful for all sorts of things! I love grobags too, I wasn’t sure about them until I used them with my babies and realised how clever they were.

This is a great list. It’s so hard to know what you actually “need” and its so easy to overbuy when you haven’t had children before. I loved my daughters moses basket, so easy to put right next to my bed or bring downstairs for any daytime naps. It was a little sad when she got too big and I had to put it away! I always wanted a changing station too, had to make do with a plastic floor mat instead though.

A fantastic yet comprehensive list that is handy for all parents to be! Too often we over purchase, carrying lots of things and gadgets that a baby really doesn’t need. This cuts out right down to the important basics
