I have decided that this year I really I need to overhaul my entire Body Care regime, at the minute I concentrate so much on facial treatments I neglect the other parts of my body that are no doubt screaming for moisture and love, so my beauty resolutions for 2017 are as follows…..
Hair
I spend so much on my hair but I massively neglect it when at home, as a hairdresser you would think I would know better lol. I’m going to start doing home treatments and masks on my hair at least once a week. Just shampoo as normal and then pop conditioner/mask on and leave on for 10-15 minutes and then rinse, this will fit into my home routine anyway., so it’s not going to add a massive change to my routine as it stands.
I do currently use a split end repair treatment and a conditioning balm but I feel in today climate my hair needs more. I’m also doing a blog post soon on using items in your home as a conditioning treatment so keep your eyes peeled for that coming up.
Body Care
This is one area I lack in massively. I shower pretty quickly as I’m short on time what with the children and a busy home. One thing I don’t do is moisturise every time after showering, I know shock horror, right? I’m sure my skin is crying for some added moisture. So from today I’m so on this, I’m going to make time for applying moisturising creams, I’m also going to pay more attention to my feet especially with spring sort of approaching, nothing worse than horrid feet in nice flip-flops or shoes.
I have a few items already stocked up so I’m looking forward to seeing which work wonders and I will let you know.
Another thing I’m going to implement more is body brushing, I do this every now and again but it something I want to do much more. Do you body brush?
Nail Care
I do apply hand cream a fair bit as my hands are in water lots but I’m going to make an effort to apply cuticle oil more regularly.
Are you very disciplined with Body Care? or are you just like me? pop your replies down below and if you have any tips I would love to hear them

I am the least disciplined person with my beauty regime ever – especially since having had my baby boy! This year I’ll try and take a leaf out of your book and focus on a small thing or two – my nails especially could do with some TLC.

I think all our attention shifts once we have a baby it’s all about them. That’s why I’m making time this year to feel good about moi xx
11th January 2017 at 11:06 amI so need to take more care of my hair and body! I always say I’m going to and then never do. As a fairly young mum I feel I look older than I am because I don’t take the time to pamper myself – great post! x
11th January 2017 at 9:43 amI’m 40 now so I’m really feeling the push. When your baby is in bed just spend 2 mins doing something, I know it’s the last thing on your mind but I feel so much better after a mini pamper ??x
11th January 2017 at 11:05 amAt the moment I’m no good with regimes. Yet my poor skin and hair is crying out for some decent attention. Winter has been harsh. You’ve given me the poke I needed to do things better.
11th January 2017 at 9:45 amYay I’m so glad. Even 2minutes a day will make the difference I’m sure
11th January 2017 at 11:04 amI’m trying to take better care of my hair too. I bleach it and straighten it a lot so its quite damaged. I’m trying to lay off the straighteners for a bit and use good products on it x
11th January 2017 at 9:45 amMines the same. I’m letting mine dry naturally atm to give it a little break from heat x
11th January 2017 at 11:03 amOoh I really like that Glow Gorgeous End Split Ends stuff, it smells lovely!
11th January 2017 at 10:04 amI adore it at the minute so so light but works wonders
11th January 2017 at 11:03 amI really need to make more of an effort to wash my makeup brushes more regularly and take better care of my skin and hair x
11th January 2017 at 10:12 amOh gosh me too. I did mine the other day in goodness knows how long x
11th January 2017 at 11:02 amThis is one of my goals for 2017 too. I have started a skincare routine so I hope I can stick to it 🙂 ox
11th January 2017 at 10:53 amYay it doesn’t take that long we just think it does ? xx
11th January 2017 at 11:02 amWhat a fab idea. I definitely need to take more care of my hair, post partum hair loss has not been kind to me.
Emily x
11th January 2017 at 11:08 amI used to be guilty of not moisturising after showering too, but I can’t get away with it anymore! The water wrecks my skin. If you’re looking for good hair masks to treat yourself to, I highly recommend the big red bottles of Kallos Cosmetics you can get in Urban Outfitters. I use it once a week an it makes a massive difference. It’s lasted me forever too!
11th January 2017 at 11:17 amOh thanks for the tip lovely. I’m off to check it out now 🙂
11th January 2017 at 11:22 amI realize it’s odd for a guy whose morning routine rarely involves more than brushing teeth, showering, and, if prompted, to run a brush through my hair. However, I am married to a wonderful and beautiful woman. And reading ur blog has given me some insight into the work that goes on “behind the scenes.” Thank you
11th January 2017 at 11:27 amI’ve always been crap at doing stuff like his but even more so since I had the baby. Need to get back into a routine seeing as I’m going back to work soon. Can’t be looking like a bag lady! Gonna try and incorporate a few of these resolutions into my daily routine.
11th January 2017 at 2:33 pmI really need to keep up with my skincare and hair care too! I neglect my body always but the body is the temple and all that haha! Definitely need to pay more attention to it, and look into that split end treatment too it looks fab! Xx
11th January 2017 at 2:35 pmDefinitely not disciplined at all! I rarely moisturise even though it stares at me whilst I dry myself off after a shower. Not even a time consuming activity, I’m just lazy. I’ve never body brushed in my life! x
11th January 2017 at 4:10 pmThis is so me “I spend so much on my hair but I massively neglect it when at home”. I need to use masks and oils alot more than I do now x
11th January 2017 at 4:18 pmIt’s easy to neglect important parts of an effective beauty routine. I think I’m generally good with nails and skincare, but need to do more for my body. I forget to moisturise or exfoliate and find it is now very dry! x
11th January 2017 at 4:36 pmI vowed to drink a lot more water and generally need to start and take a little more care of my skin! I am guilty of sleeping some nights with the days make up on – once ive got the kids to bed though i just want to crash! lol
11th January 2017 at 6:37 pmLol that made me giggle. I need to up my water intake as well. 🙂
11th January 2017 at 10:12 pmI am not disciplined when it comes to beauty resolutions at all but I definitely need to be . My hands get dry so I need to use cream more often.
11th January 2017 at 7:05 pmOne thing I have been good at is taking care of my entire body, yes my face gets more attention but my hair I can not leave it be because its unmanageble so I never miss an appointment and my body is moistured daily because I have dry skin. Good luck with your goals
11th January 2017 at 8:53 pmI don’t moisturize after the shower either, definitely something I want to do more as I notice a big difference when I do x
12th January 2017 at 9:16 amI updated my beauty routine a few months ago and it was the best thing.
12th January 2017 at 12:22 pmI’m so bad with my beaut regime – I just have no dedication!
12th January 2017 at 12:55 pmI try to have a regime for everything but sometimes I forget about skincare, need to more often
12th January 2017 at 1:16 pmI’m really bad with body care. i only take care when its really necessary but need to get into the habit of moisturising daily
12th January 2017 at 9:45 pmI need to make some beauty resolutions too. I really need to look after my hair more as it’s a mess.
13th January 2017 at 5:29 pmI’m religious with my skincare but I’m lazy when it comes to body moisturiser, that’s my resolution!
14th January 2017 at 9:21 amI religiously use a scrub on my body but rarely follow up with a moisturiser and I never ever treat my hair. You’ve inspired me.
14th January 2017 at 10:01 pmThanks lovely
15th January 2017 at 6:14 pmNope I have to admit I never body brush. My poor body is lucky if it gets some lip balm and moisturiser. One of my resolutions is to look after myself better too!
14th January 2017 at 10:04 pmHaha that made me giggle. ? we will be fabulous looking come summer x
15th January 2017 at 6:14 pmI started body brushing a couple of months ago. I had a lot of cellulite and an article told me that body brushing would help…. it did. It takes about 2 weeks to get a routine set and it did seem a chore at first but it is great. Xx
15th January 2017 at 7:56 amFab to hear a positive about body brushing so yay ? it does feel odd but I’m sure I will get used to it xx
15th January 2017 at 6:12 pmI start off with the best of intentions and then I might miss a day, and then another and before I Realise it a week has gone past. I am trying extremely hard with my cleansing and moisturising at the moment and haven’t missed a day x
16th January 2017 at 11:39 amYay keep going 🙂 x
16th January 2017 at 11:44 amI want to add this on my goals. I’m looking for a nice skincare and glad you share this I will check this out
