How To Help Reduce Cellulite

How To Help Reduce Cellulite

I never really had any issues with Cellulite until I had the twins. From this point my weight has gone up and down again, I have never gotten back to my size 10 dresses so I’m not sure if this is maybe why I have had an increase in the Cellulite area.

So what is cellulite? Cellulite can be found just below the skin and are in essence fat deposits. They can be found on the upper legs and bottom area.

I have been trialling a few items out myself with the hope to reduce it and thought as it’s approaching summer that I would share these with you guys and hopefully hear some of your treatments.

Body Brushing

I had tried this a few years ago but gave up pretty quickly. Over the last few months, I have made myself do it on a daily basis. I’m now dry brushing compared to brushing in the shower. It feels odd the first few times but you get used to it. My skin feels incredibly soft after which is a massive bonus.

So what are the added benefits of body brushing?

  • Helps rid the skin of dead skin cells
  • It can help prevent ingrown hairs. It
  • Assists in improving vascular blood circulation and lymphatic drainage
How to Dry Brush
  • Buy a firm, natural-bristle brush
  • Take about three minutes to dry-brush your whole body
  • Brush upwards
  • Start at the knee, where the lymph nodes are, and brush the outside.

Water

Drinking water is so important for so many reasons, I for one probably don’t drink half as much as I should. Our bodies need it to stay hydrated and there are so many benefits from doing so. Hydrating your body keeps your skin cells looking fresh, which can in turn help to reduce the appearance of cellulite. We are advised to drink at least 8 glasses per day. I know lots of people drink a glass first thing in the morning to kick start everything.

Lotions and Potions

There are so many on the market claiming to reduce Cellulite. I have tried a few, none really have reduced it, but they do all give me very moisturised skin, maybe I need to apply them more to notice more of a result. I will continue on and see what I think in a few months so I’m not writing them off completely just yet.

One thing that I have noticed that really helps the appearance is using fake tan. My tan of choice at the minute is Bellamianta, if you want to read my review of it click here. I do feel that using a tan does make you feel better within yourself anyway, plus it takes away from the blue-white colour my legs tend to have at this time of year haha.

Do you guys have any tips for reducing Cellulite?

I’ve found that a few short, fast walks a week (10 minutes, twice a day, three days a week) have made a real difference for me.

The biggest difference I’ve noticed in my cellulite has been since I started weight training at the gym! I do love dry body brushing though, it makes my skin feel so soft <3

My mummy hates Cellulite on her body but uses fake tan to help disguise it a little. That body brush sounds good x

I don’t trust massages and lotions much regarding cellulite, as I believe it’s the water in take, diet and exercise that count more.
But after my pregnancy, I think I may combine both a healthy diet and a lotion to get quicker results.
Thanks for bringing this one to my attention 🙂
