I came across these ethically made home accessories a few weeks ago and instantly fell in love with them. They have all the Scandi vibes which you guys know that I love. Plus the fact they are Ethically made makes them stand out for me, you know I love ethically made items. Not only this but they are hand woven by women in Senegal to offer a better life, shelter, food, and education to people living in rural area of Senegal. The brand is called La Basketry and the aim is to grow their network and to change even more lives. How could you not love this?
Today you can buy one of these versatile baskets and know that it was created for use – to become a part of your home, a fruit bowl, bread bin, toy box or laundry basket.
La Basketry storage is about being at the heart of your home, and doing good. It’s woven into our DNA.
Ethically Made Home Accessories
La Basketry was formed by two sisters Tabara and Mamy who have traveled to the area since they were newborns with family. Growing up watching ladies produce these baskets in the baskets their love for the technique grew. As adults, the sisters used these baskets in their own homes and were forever getting compliments from friends. The sisters began brainstorming to come up with ideas to get the baskets out there more whilst helping others.
The materials used to create the baskets are sourced locally in Senegal using local grass and coloured strips. I absolutely love the designs of all the pieces. The perfect addition to any home. I know I would love to have these in our house as storage for the little one’s toys, or used as a fruit bowl or decorative piece on a table etc. The baskets have so many uses and are easily used in any room in the home.
