I can still remember the pure excitement when we heard that Ikea was coming to Belfast. I could indulge in my Scandi passion and eat meatballs to my heart was content. Ikea has been here for many years now and is a source of inspiration for many, myself included. But what I also love about IKEA is the quality of the goods and how affordable they are. Gone are the days where we had to online shop to get affordable furniture compared to local independent home living stores. We can transform rooms easily by using the home delivery option or by collecting smaller items ourselves. I popped to IKEA yesterday for some style inspiration. Many due to the fact that we are moving soon and I want to transform a few rooms entirely but add some bold touches to items we already have to add a new feel to them. Today I’m focusing on Living Area Inspiration From IKEA. My favourite rooms from yesterdays visit and what I have taken away in terms of style ideas.
Living Area Inspiration From IKEA
In our Ikea, there are multiple pod living areas. I always find this really helps to get a better idea of space/design/colours. We already have red sofas that we are taking with us so I was really excited to see a rather bold living space which was based around large pieces of furniture. Rather than complementary colours I really wanted to go against the grain and add vibrant splashes of colour in the form of textiles.
We will be using our living room as a fun family space so for me it has to be a space that oozes warmth/fun and love. I really love the bold splashes of yellow in this space and for it not being a complementary colour as such it really works. I love how the space has been brought together by adding yellow accessories in the forms of baskets/frames and the storage furniture itself.
The rest of the room sees the colour combinations bind together creating a very fun ultra modern living area.
As I mentioned earlier there were multiple pods in the living area floor space. To be fair I absolutely loved them all each for different reasons. From more natural tones and accents to bold statement rooms.
