Winter Interior Inspiration

I’m loving styling our new home. We have never had so much space before so we have bought lots of new items. I wanted to share some Winter Interior Inspiration with you guys today. There are a few trends out there at the minute that I’m drawn to. Those being retro-styled items, items that have a lovely scandi vibe and of course the mirrored trend that is still going strong. There is so much choice out there and I have thoroughly enjoyed browsing websites and creating boards to help me style certain areas. I’m very much a planner when it comes to making larger purchases and I love trying to visualise the pieces with the furniture that we may already have in that particular room. Another great way to get ideas is to use Pinterest, I have found this app a valuable tool for my blog but for ideas for the home. Pinterest for those of you that don’t know is a platform which is similar to Google in terms of searching, you can then create boards for certain topics and pin your favourite item in said boards.

Retro Vibes

What I really love about styling your home nowadays is that anything goes, you can mix multiple fabrics, textures, and pieces together. My mum’s generation everything was about matching, today we are a generation of people who like to experiment and I’m embracing this. We are a family of Orla Kiely fans. Most of our bedding is from her range, we have subtle small stem printed fabrics to statement fabrics with larger prints and more vibrant colourings. As you can see below I’m loving the retro vibe of these items from Zurleys

My bedroom is my sanctuary, I love nothing better than curling up in bed to read, watch Netflix or just relax. Its a standing joke with my friends when I say ‘Guess where I am’ I love a room that oozes warmth and relaxation with copious amounts of pillows and throws for cooler days and nights and of course to add a different look to the bed. I’m loving the following items from the Hygge collection at Debenhams

Scandi Kitchen Accessories

A great and cheap way to bring a bit of Scandi into your home is by adding Scandi vibed kitchen accessories. The few I have listed below are from Amazon. (***) There are so many items on the market now that reflect and give the Scandi look. It’s worth shopping around and seeing what you can pick up. Ikea is also a great place to get smaller items and of course larger pieces like dining tables etc.

The Mirrored Trend

This look came around when the twins were very small. It wasn’t something that we wanted in invest in back then simply because of hand prints etc and the constant cleaning of said items. Now they are bigger and don’t paw items we have been looking at larger mirrored pieces for our bedroom. We had considered getting something for the hallway but as that area is now my office that idea has now gone. The items listed below are from the Zurleys mirrored range.

Living Room Accessories

I am a sucker for a good accessory. By just adding a few new item to a room you can really change the feel and look of it. As you guys know I was nominated for Best Interior Lifestyle Blog in the Amara awards over the summer so its only fitting that I share some stunning items from them in my Winter Inspiration post as well. Below are some simple items which I adore, I have a few rugs very similar to these in my home and can be used on the foor, as a wall hanging or hung over the side of a sofa or wooden side table.

I hope you guys have enjoyed my Winter Interior Inspiration post. 🙂 Do you like Scandi/Retro inspired pieces in your home?

Congrats on your new home! One day I dream of having a lovely looking home – right now it’s just a mishmash of rooms waiting to be decorated, boxes of crap everywhere and no style whatsoever!
