The Hilton Hotel Belfast

Valentine’s treat night this year was a stay at the Hilton in Belfast. Opting for the standby upgrade option we had everything crossed that the Hotel wasn’t too busy. Arriving our dreams had been answered and they had availability.

Having not stayed in the upgrades before we didn’t realise that we would have an amazing view. Located on the 10th floor, our room, a corner room, overlooked the River Lagan and the Bridge. Husbot being a photographer was in his element, as per any night away the camera comes as well. When I see it being put in the boot i always giggle but I’m always glad of the amazing memories we capture from our Hotel visits.

The room was a very good size. When entering the bathroom was located on the left and wardrobes on the right. Straight ahead was the bed and on the other side a large funky chair and a sofa. Pulling back the blinds we were blown away by the view.  Room service could easily have been ordered and we could have sat and enjoyed the view and the sunset.

During this stay we opted for a meal in the city, just wanting a more laid back evening. The Hotel is located very close to Victoria Square which if you are not from Belfast has some amazing shops and restaurants. Basically, all you need for an informal meal. Walking back to the hotel we walked along the water and took in the stillness of the water.

Executive Area and Bar

Returning to the Hilton we had decided take advantage of the upgrade and head upstairs to the Executive area. This area is situated on the 11th Floor of the Hotel and is small function room for people staying on the upper floors in the Hotel, its open in the evening from 6-9pm. We hadn’t realised that our drinks were free in this area. They also provide a self-serve appetiser area including Chicken wings, crisps, fresh bread and oils, cheese and crackers plus more. There is also a Tea and Coffee machine. you can also have your breakfast in here if you wish instead of going downstairs to the main restaurant. Not an option we availed of but I’m sure its lovely.

Greeted by a lovely lady upon entering called Dominica. Incredibly attentive, we always had our drinks topped up before asking for more. A very chatty lady, who immediately put us at ease. The room had possibly 10 tables scattered throughout and a few large sofas. A very informal area for being an Executive room, we felt very comfortable and not out of place. There was a lovely selection of music playing in the background and everyone had a lovely time.

When this area closed we made our way downstairs to the main bar for a few drinks. The bar area was very relaxed and not that busy which was lovely for us. I had a few cocktails, which the waitress helped me choose. We really enjoyed the hour we spent down here before heading back upstairs.

Both shattered after a pretty long week we wanted a semi-early night. When we got back up to our room which we hadn’t been in since dinner we were greeted by the most breathtaking view. I lay in bed and just looked out, the windows being on both sides allowed a full view out over the River area. The Husbot had a great time snapping these pictures and I think he did a smashing job.

We both awakened feeling very refreshed after a restful nights sleep. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows very soft which I love. We had ordered room service for breakfast. We love being pampered whilst away. As usual, the breakfast was beautiful. Presented very well and all hot upon arrival. We thoroughly enjoy it whilst looking out and taking in the view before needing to leave.

We had a great visit in the Hilton Belfast. I would thoroughly recommend this Hotel for a City stay. The staff amazing and all very accommodating. The room was very clean and beyond what I expected for the upgrade. I would encourage anybody to avail of this service if you stay, it’s a minimal charge and what you receive in return outways the cost. I can’t wait to return soon for another stay, well done Hilton Belfast you exceeded our expectations.
