Making Good Eco Friendly Choices

Making Good Eco Friendly Choices

I think as a society the majority are Making Good Eco Friendly Choices and take on board some simple changes that we all must make for our planet. I remember watching a program a few weeks ago about some birds that are endangered. This has been multiplied because they are dying due to eating plastics, this has stuck in my head since then. We as humans are responsible for this due to our choices. If you are a long termer on here you will know that I’m a huge advocate for eco living and trying to help others find items that are planet wise and also in some cases a more affordable option. So today I’m sharing just a few items with you guys that make a difference.

Making Good Eco Friendly Choices

Faith In Nature

As with a few natural companies that I have stumbled across the creator has started the business from their own homes. Using the kitchen as a base to create formulas and bring the brand forward. The brains behind Faith in nature is Rivka Rose an American who relocated to Scotland in the 10970s. The brand developed and soon Rivka was selling her natural products in local health food shops. Rivka’s aim was create a a range using natural ingredients which were cruelty free but also planet wise. In 1974 the brand Faith in Nature was created and the rest is history.

So what exactly goes into our vegan natural products? All of our Faith in Nature products are exploding with 100% natural fragrance, naturally derived ingredients and are free from Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) and Parabens. We use no animal ingredients in any of our products, so they are all suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

The Coconut Range

I have been trying out the coconut range for a few weeks now. I’m a huge coconut lover and I would opt for this scent over anything fruity so this was perfect for me. The 3 items that I trailed had a very light coconut scent which I much prefer over something overpowering.

As far as the shampoo and conditioner go both are very nourishing and left my hair feeling extremely clean, free from tangles and smelling fresh. There is a nice lather from the shampoo which I loved as I find more natural products sometimes don’t have this. The conditioner is light and not heavy on the hair again a plus for me as having heavily conditioned makes my hair look lank.

The body wash again was lovely and nourishing. it didn’t leave my skin feeling striped of oils and it was a lovely product to use. You didn’t need to use a lot to get a good wash as well which is always a bonus.

Super U

Making Good Eco Friendly Choices

I was really excited when I received these in the post, seriously how amazing is the coconut bowl and the packaging. Super U is the baby of two entrepreneurs Charlotte Bailey and her partner Sean Ali. These guys are only in their 20s so massive Kudos to them for going after their dreams. The brand has a heavy focus on reusing, sustainability and looking after yourself from the inside out. Charlotte was diagnosed with coeliac disease whilst in uni and felt she wouldn’t be happy again which to be fair is  a pretty standard reaction after getting a new diagnosis. Sean rekindled her love of food and together they have worked so hard in creating the Super U brand.

Coconut Bowl

I didn’t realise so many coconut shells are just discarded after use. This spurred the couple on to create a bowl made by using the outer shell. This bowl is of course reusable and the perfect addition to your crockery collection.

Our Coconut Bowls are handcrafted from real coconut shells that would otherwise be discarded as waste. They are simply sanded down and polished with natural coconut oil, to create a smooth and soft finish.

The coconut bowls are priced at £9.99 which I think is a great price point for a reusable, sustainable item.

Organic Clean Greens

I have been wanting to try something like this for ages, but I think the colour just put me off. I love the idea of being able to incorporate it into your smoothies/meals to make it more palatable but it can also be added to water as a drink.

Ingredients

Baobab, Barley Grass, Chlorella, Moringa, Pineapple, Wheatgrass, Spirulina and Camu Camu Berry.

As I mentioned above there are multiple ways in which you can take the Super Greens, as a starting point I went right for the drink method. It does taste earthy but once you get into it its really not bad and is very palatable. The goodness in the ingredients help boost your immune system. As we are all very busy these days an added supplement of this kind is paramount and especially in the autumn winter months. From a price point the container has 30 servings and comes in at £24.99

Enna Menstrual Cup

Ladies turn to using a menstrual cup for many different reasons, some environmental some down to allergic reasons to standard sanitary protection. Whatever your reason the majority of ladies that I know that use them love them and will never go back to conventional forms of sanitary products. I have used cloth sanitary pads for many years after getting  a chemical burn (soz tmi) but I have always wanted to experiment and try a moon cup. The reason why I never used tampax was down to the risks of toxic shock etc and it was never something my mum introduced when I first started my periods. Moon cups have become a very popular choice for ladies and they now come in different sizes meaning ladies who have not had children can also use then, but with a slimmer size. Obviously when giving birth vaginally these muscles are stretched so a larger cup is required.

Its estimated that a lady using sanitary pads will use approx. 11,000 in her lifetime all of which go to landfill, the Enna cup on the other hand lasts 10 years and you could get away with the pack of 2 which is linked below. So not only is it environmentally a better option but also financially as well. The Enna cup package comes with two cups, one for use and another in the container to change. As I mentioned above it is a more cost effective product and coming in at £24.95.
