I have been so lucky lately to have had the pleasure of working with some amazing Natural Product Companies and to receive some very positive responses from my lovely readers. It’s so lovely being able to source these products easily now. I’m so impressed with the quality of the products that I have tried but also the amount of companies out there that are willing to take the step into the more Natural Product Market. I can see this section booming, as we take more notice of what we use on our skins and also what we consume. Society is becoming more excepting of Natural, Organic and Alternative therapies and I for one am very glad. Today’s post I bring to you a selection of products from Pure Potions.
Pure Potions The Brand
Natalie the brand founder like me has a child with Eczema. Natalie having tried conventional products with little results, turned to more natural products to help ease her daughter’s dry and itchy skin. I can completely understand her desperation to allow her daughter to be comfortable and without constant irritation. On her quest to achieve this Natalie became creating her own products at home using herbs and oils. These items have been used for years anyway in alternative therapies with very positive results.
Natalie created the Skin Salvation Intensive Moisturising Ointment which was a hit from the off. A newspaper got wind of the amazing results and Natalie’s company Pure Potions was then created. Since then the range has evolved and now has an amazing range of products, some of which are multi-use, which is great and makes them uber affordable when you consider how many ailments they can treat.
I have been using 3 items from the range. All are items that I selected due to my own skin irritations, adding to that my son’s skin condition,
Skin Salvation Moisturising Ointment
The Skin Salvation Ointment is packed full of moisturisers which help to nourish, hydrate and deliver fatty acids to dry irritated areas. The bonus of using this ointment is that it creates a barrier, which protects the skin from any more external irritants.
The ointment can be used on babies from 6 weeks of age. What I also really like about this product is that it’s a multi-use product.
It can be used on the following:
- Overnight Moisture Mask
- Cuticle Balm
- Swimming Barrier
- Spilt Ends
- Dribble Rash
- Sore Noses
- Eye Makeup Remover
- Nappy Balm
- Cracked Heels
- Itchy Patches
- Lip Balm plus much more…….
I have been using this on Mason my 4-year-old with multiple allergies and bad Eczema. The weather is starting to change but for Mason, this doesn’t see a change in his skin like it would another child. When Mason comes into contact with an allergen his eyelids will peel. Coupled with his skin condition he can be pretty miserable at times. This cream was a great bonus to our skin cupboard. At this stage like Natalie, I am willing to try anything to give him some relief. I did as with any new product try a patch test to make sure there were no adverse reactions. There was of course none and we proceeded to use the product twice a day. We used the ointment on Mason’s face as this area is particularly bad at the minute.
The ointment is a yellow colour, with a very light and pleasant herby scent. The product is very easily removed from the pot and melts into a lovely oil upon contact with the skin. Its very easy to apply and I found a little goes a long way. We have noted a marked improvement with Mason’s skin starting to use the ointment.
From a price point, I think its very affordable. Starting off at £7.99 for 30mls.
Pure Potions Organic Rosehip Oil
My facial skin has changed so much over the last few years and more so since turning 40. I have become a massive lover of Oils as part of my cleansing routine. My skin seems to really like the effect that oil gives it, so I use morning and evening. I have been using the Rosehip oil as a facial oil with the main purpose of hydration but also to reduce a small scar that I have. One thing I really like about this oil, in particular, is that it absorbs extremely quickly into the skin, allowing you to complete your cleansing routine without having to hang around.
Also, having had 6 children I have a lovely collection of stretch marks on my tummy and upper thighs. They aren’t very large but to reduce the colouring would be great, especially as I am pretty self-conscious about them especially in summer months.
I have been using this product for a few weeks now in both areas. My skin feels very soft and hydrated. The oil is particularly suitable for use on scars, stretch marks, uneven skin tone, dehydrated skin and ageing skin. The oil also packed with Vitamin A, Vitamin C and essential fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6.
To use just apply a small amount either to the area that you wish to treat or apply to hands and rub in. The oil has a very pleasant scent and as I said before absorbs in very easily.
Pure Potions Skin Salvation Scalp Oil
This was one product I was uber excited about receiving. For the past year, I have had such a tight scalp, plus some flaking. Having tried multiple lotions and potions with no success I was very excited to see if this would work. As it’s an oil I would suggest separating your hair into workable sections, then apply the product directly to the scalp area. The product has a very pleasant smell and is very concentrated, so a little goes a long way. I leave it on overnight and rinse off in the morning, or if I’m pushed on time, I apply and leave for a few hours then rinse before bed. I have found this to be very effective and I’m very keen to see how much improvement I can get with continual usage.
