Top 11 Baby Names for 2017

It’s one thing we all face when we become parents, the name choice. Today I wanted to share with you a selection of the Top 11 Baby Names for 2017.

I know with all of my 6 children choosing the correct name was very difficult. We had huge difficulties choosing the twins names as we wanted names that were great together. I liked one and my hubby didn’t or vice versa. We settled for Mason and Logan, in the end, giving them both middle names of special family members who had passed away.  There is such a vast amount to choose from, if you pick up a baby name book you may find it a tad overwhelming to start with. As parents, we wanted a name that would grow with our children, from their infancy to adulthood. All my children were named prior to birth, I know this isn’t necessarily the norm and lots of parents to be like waiting until the birth to see their baby. I suppose the fact that we knew the sex of all 6 prior to birth helped us as well. Well, it certainly made the list a fair bit shorter that’s for sure.

I’m not really one for traditional names as such but it’s so lovely to see names in both lists that have been around for generations. My children’s names are also in the Top 11 although we have never met any other children with their names.

Are there any in either list that you’re drawn too?

All three of my children have rather unusual names, names you’d never find on a souvenir pencil, lol! Suppose that reflects my tendency to be a bit different. 🙂

Being different is good, I’m drawn to unusual names with character as well 🙂

I really like all the girls names in these lists, I think they’re quite modern – but for the boys names I’m really not a fan of the old fashioned, biblical names. Names are such a personal thing for parents though x
